I recon Swindon is worse though .. everyone looks alike, family tree with no forks .. the shallow end of the gene pool .. you get the idea ..

Sounds like most of Detroit, actually, just on a smaller scale.

I imagine most 'blue collar' industrial towns are like that to some extent or another. Some people were born to write novels, others to assemble automobiles. Nothing wrong with that.

Does Toyota build any cars in the UK?

Actually, i wouldnt say swindon is blue collar - there is a lot of financial buisness there, although Honda is one of the main employers.

Reading tends to be the silicon valley..

Sorry to dissapoint you but I think it is only the engines that are made in Swindon

Yeah, Toyotas build cars at Burnaston in Derbyshire and Nissan in Sunderland.

That's not what the factories website says, but it wouldn't disappoint me either way.

Well, that's debatable. I drove both extensively before deciding I'd rather just not have an SUV at all and have something less expensive and more fun than either.

Having done that, I feel qualified to comment. The RAV has the more capable handling and slightly better acceleration. The RAV also has the superior 4x4 system.

However, the RAV doesn't have anywhere near the clearance to put the great 4x4 system to use and isn't built for it so that bit is pointless unless you live in Greenland on the side of a glacier because the Honda's system is more than adequate and is more fuel efficient.

The Honda has a much more versatile interior and back seats that can actually fit non-Japanese sized adults quite comfortably. The Honda has the quieter, smoother engine and a much better manual gear shift action. Velvety compared with the Toyota. The Honda's K series motor is brilliant and a lesson on how to make a 4 as silky smooth as an inline 6. Toyota should copy from it. The Honda is quieter, rides much better and handles very nearly as well and the interior is more comfortable. That to me = win.

I liked them both, but the cramped rear seat in the RAV was enough alone for me to rule it out.

This is just a matter of taste, but I prefer the CRV's blockier simple but modern shape to the RAV's "I wanna be a Celica" looks.

Sounds like most of Detroit, actually, just on a smaller scale.

And probably the less likely place to get your car stolen.

Only cause they are so far behind that most the locals are still using horse and cart ..

Another boring fact for you!
