Im looking to get some Eibach lowering springs for my mots.. -25mm drop..

How much did yours set you back and you fitting them yourself?

Whats peoples thoughts on these springs? Will it effect the the ride much? as im putting them on the stock shockers.. :bookworm:

I will be fitting the springs myself onto stock shocks, untill i can afford uprated shocks. They should be ok, just might bottom out, so ill probably put a small set of bump stops in until i get new shocks.

I have the Sportline kit (only in the us - 40 mm drop) instead of the 25mm proline kits in the UK :P

DCDesign were the cheapest i could find for the springs, but i managed to get mine of a friend of a friend who knos someone !! ;)

I did alot of investigating prior to getting Eibachs, but everyone ratted them !!

The progressive part at the top... i.e. the tighter wound part.

You should be able to see the writing the right way up when you fit them.

I just fitted these springs.

Hey Kev...

How long did it take you to change the springs?

A tricky job? Anything to look out for? :bookworm:

i've lowered at lot of cars in the past on various diff springs n always been instructed tight coils at bottom, these are effectively the pre-load part of the spring or summat!!

but knowing the Mr2 it'll be different cos it seems to be the case in everything!!!

No pics yet mate. Having the kitchen/dining room done at the minute and lost the camera! Doh!

Will be posting pics soon.

Will arrange a date with you to do yours if you want. Are you at Jap Fest?

It took about 2-2.5 hours to do all four... but allow a bit longer for seized bolts.

It's not too tricky a job, just requires patience and some brute force to undo some nuts/bolts.

The pain in the back side are the brake lines. It goes through a bracket on the strut itself. I've seen 'how to' instructions where people have said to cut the brackets, but I'd advise against this. Use a clamp, undo the brake line, do the job, fit it all back together and bleed the brakes afterwards... remembering to top up the brake fluid and wash down any spilt fluid.

With the sportline I've noticed I've got a knock every now and again when going over a fairly big bump. Sounds like the spring is moving. Eibach have recommended that you rotate the spring about .25 to .50 inches counter-clockwise.

Spoke to Earl though who's got the same springs and he said he's not had any trouble like that... but then, they could have already be turned back a little! Don't know for sure.

Hope this helps, and I'll post pics as soon as a find the camera!:lol::bye:
