Yep, shocking news. I work for Royal & SunAlliance - the announcement crashed our servers! He got a much bigger mention than anyone else who's died...

Looked like a lovely dog but i bet he had a great life as most dogs that work in TV are very well looked after.

It said in the announcement that Benson was 'unusual' compared to most tv pets because he had a family who loved him. Bit of a strange thing to say in an obituary though!!

Benson (Lucky) had appeared in 20 adverts for "More Than" insurance.

I am sure he will be missed. :(

Ain't that the truth. ;)

Human nature is a strange thing, a dog that dies creates more of a response than two lads seriously injured in a car crash

(And as people who know me I'm the biggest dog lover on this site)

How ironic.

Some of you may remember my post about my dog Benson (Staff) who was diagnosed with cancer age 12 just over a month ago. He was due to be put down but, good news, after some treatment he has been given a further 6 months.

It is amazing how attached you can get.

I did write that but deleted it knowing someone else would add it.

Didn't mean to hijack thread but thought it was on topic and hadn't said anything until now as it was touch and go for a while and quite distressing.

I mean, next you'll think Lassie was the same dog through all those years...
