Ok so basically almost every time i get out my yaris and go to shut the door, I get a static shock :censor: .

What i want to know is if theres actually an explanation for this and if theres something i can do to stop it.

Or is just that my yaris doesn't like me :ffs: :D

Most likely your clothes mate, static build up. I always get one when I'm wearing my cheap work polyester shirts and fleece. Try wearing more natural fibres :)

it aint just the yari its any car,i get it alot esp if i've been driving a distance, think sometimes its what clothes/shoes your wearing.

Those chains that hang off back of car are surposed to help but look naff.

i just tend to shut the door with the window!!!

close the door by pushing the glass in the window. then your not touching metal, so no shock,

it's probabally your clothes, even though I wear a fleece for work (great for building up static) I have never had a shock off the car yet.

used to get one of my mum and dad's old car a lot

Oh look its this old discussion again..

Its your clothing, specifically your footwear.

To cut a long story short...

I get a shock off my Yaris with my thick soled trainers on, not with my work shoes or doc martins or anything leather for that matter.

Case Closed.

Case Closed.

Having thick rubber car mats will stop it as well, then you can keep your clothes on!

It might fix the static problem, but they are ugly as sin and smell funny.

Official Yaris mats are the only things worthy of my time. :P
