Spraying My Black Bits!

Hi all,

I'm tempted to get my side strips and the black parts of the car (eg: the plasticy lower part of the MK2 rev 1 bumper the, the black stripe on the bottom of the sides near the jacking points and the plasticy bits on the rear bumper) sprayed to match the red of my car.

Does anyone have any idea what sort of cost this would be?

Also how much would it cost to replace the front bushes?

Thanks in advance!

:)

Shouldn't be too expensive for bushes, they're only pieces of rubber.

Good idea colour coding the splitters, that's what I'm having done when mine goes in on Thursday.

the splitters on my rev 1 have been colour coded but the laquer is flaking, when i took it for a quote they told me it'll always end up flaking but if its a good job then it'll last a few years, id say itll prob you round 100 for the work, i had it done on my old primera and that was what i paid cash in hand

I heard about the flaking on the plastic areas. Painted my side sills white, but to be honest difficult to get colour match as the paint is weathered so i put it back black. Amazing what a new coat of balck does. Lovely. Afterall Black is black, but red, aint red :-).....

Just make sure you get it right as mine looked s****, also when it starts to flake it will look even worse. Think about a new coat of black mate. But it is up to you!!

Interesting to see what other peeps think

Yeah, I think some colours are very difficult to get an exact match once weathered. According to my body sprayer white, silver and red seem to be the hardest. Blues and blacks are apparently the easiest to match or at least you can't tell the difference so much.

Why does the paint flake on the splitters?

Why does the paint flake on the splitters?

Its to do with the type of plastic there made from and no amount of plastic primer will keep the paint on them

I'm asking coz my front splitter is badly cracked at the bottom, is there anything that can be done for this?

as long as your keeping it black you'd get away with repairing it and painting it.

Again thought the paint will eventually peel off
