bought mine on impulse - had been looking at dealtime a few days before, and £300 was about what people wanted for 40gb.

I actually thought it was a pricing mistake - so snapped one up.

realised it was deliberate when I went back a week later to get one for my brother, and they were advertised as £120 off

ive got 32gb of music material on my hardisc! i itned to cram it on the pod and get the link system for my cars headunit, so no the 20gb would be too small, was concidering the 60gb photo one but dont need it for the photos would just cram it eventually to the brink with music

start tagging NOW mate.

took me ages to do it all, and three rebuilds of itunes to get it right.

I recommend using The GodFather and MusicBrainz

when you have then ready - drop em into itunes, and let that look after it for you, and delete your old files

Don't they just use 2.5inch laptop hard-drives? I'm sure I've seen ones where the owner has swapped out the 40GB drive for an 80GB or 120GB drive. Infact I think an old collegue did this...

I have worked professionally in places that did not HAVE that amount of storage - never mind needed it.

fast forward ten years, and we are moaning that 60 GIGABYTES is not enough storage - just for our music
