Hi fellow Toyota lovers!

After a couple of years of ownin a Yaris D4D I've just bought a new Corolla T3, I'll be posting some pictures soon (When I work out how!) It's already in the bodyshop getting TTE Front and rear spoilers.... so should be lookin good!

I'm looking for some shiny new wheels for it, has anybody put any 18's on their corolla? if so what profile are the tyres and if possible could you post some pics on here... I'm not sure which ones to go for yet...

Also has anyone managed to get an after market stereo fitted and still kept the little screen telling us how many MPG's we're doin?!

Anyways I will have some pics of the motor soon so watch this space....

Look forward to seeing the pics. I find it hard enough to reply so adding pics cannot be so easy. I have a 2005 D-4D 1.4 MMT box which has been very good to drive and very economical. I have posted a couple of times regarding how the brakes on a Corolla work but have not had any answers.

It is very strange but when left the brake pedal can be slowly pressed to the floor and when the engine is started , and not moving, it can be more easily pressed to the floor. Why and how this happens is a mystery to me and I have not been able to ascertain any details on it.

I live in Portugal and my efforts to ascertain the facts at the local Toyota workshop got no where due to the language problem. At first they indicated it was wrong then on trying on two new cars they were preparing said "the same".

If you are able to ascertain from your Toyota dealer further details would be grateful if you would post them . Regards

Fraser

Hi there and welcome to the club,

18inch on a T3 <_< for everyday use I'd be careful ...you'll probably mess the suspension up on our roads.

Welcome to TOC mate.

If you wanna add photo's, i found the easiest way was to join http://photobucket.com/ then upload my photo's to it.

Once they've been uploaded, you can attach them to a topic by selecting the IMG button above where you write your message. A box will pop up. Open another internet explorer and go to your photobucket account. Right click and copy the URL next to the pic you want to add and then paste it into the IMG box that popped up. Once pasted, click ok and Robert's your mother's brother (bob's your uncle), it's attached to you message.

With regards to fitting a headunit that can still show your MPG, i don't think it is possible. :(

I've had my Headunit fitted for 18months+ now, and i've not missed the MPG display one bit!!!

In fact, i hardly used it when it was there, i remember once i did have a look, it showed i was doing an average MPG of 72.6MPG?????? :help::unsure::lol:

Cheers for the response guys, I'm taking some pics tonight and will put them up for your viewing pleasure!

I'm not too fussed about the MPG thing, I just didnt want to take too many factory fittted things off it. What kind of head unit did you go for? I'm thinking of a double din one. I'm usually a Pioneer person but they dont have any double din colour touch screens that I've seen, Kenwood do one but I hate !Removed! kenwoods!!

Had the same issue with the Yaris when I wanted to add a cd player!

will the 18's really damage the suspension? I was hoping to go all out with it, get some shiny 18inch cromes! we shall see!!

Thanks for the repsonse guys... watch out for the pics later tonight...

You be hard pushed to find a double DIN H/U with any decent features that you will like. :(

I seen a few about, eg Sony, Clarion.. but they have both cassette & CD, which in this day of age, it's all about CD, MP3 and Hard disks

If you look at my signature, you will see what i've got installed in my car, with a few links showing pictures of them as well :D

Hope this helps

I got my dash facial fom the States, very cheap it was, something like £18 including postage

Much cheap than trying to find one here, think it was from Autoleads, or there parent company, which they were asking something like £40 EXCLUDING POSTAGE :help: :censor:

http://www.audiowarehouse.peachhost.com/ct_PR180656806.htm

You can find them on E-bay, but you have to find the right one

With my facial, there is a spare slot just above the H/U, but you can find them with the slot below, depend on your choice, either way, it's your choice.

Remember if you change the factory H/U, you will need an ISO lead and most likely an ariel adaptor, so buy before you change, otherwise you might have to stop half way through, and pop to shop to buy one, like i did

Hope this helps.
