Well after having my TRD quickshift kit for a few weeks ive decided its time to fit it next week on my day off, so ive just been out sussing out how to go about it (there are instructions with it but there in japanese and a bit vauge) removing the trim around the hanbrake and dip controls looks a peice of cake (two bolts in the bottom of the storage compartment and two screws either side of the seam forward of that)

But im struggling to fiqure out how im going to remove the part forward of it (the part that 3/4 of the gaiter covers, and streches into the footwells and forms part of the centre console) ive had a look and there are two screws in each side in the upper footwells but cant find any more either in the storage box behind ashtray or the heater vents. worse case scenario im gonna have to remove the whole centre console storage box heater controls etc. has anyone reading this done it?? and how did you do it??

You will have to take the center console out due to get to the gear gaitor.... It should take you 20 mins hehe I have it down to a fine art now :lol:

Look in the foot well on the right and left of the car you will see a big L (well it's kinda L shaped ;) ) shaped bit of plastic you need to remove that. Then undo all the screws I think there are 2 at the bottom drivers side and 5 passenger side 2 at the bottom then 3 when you open the glove box. That will then give you access to the center console.

You will need to remove the heater dails etc there are screws behind then undo and sort of pull the center console out. Have a go mate it's easy enough

You can see the center screws

if you look passenger side near the mat the bit of plastic to the left of it is the bit you need to remove

CHEERS Knowlson

I wont be doing it until next weds so keep an eye out on here in case i screw it up and need help (unlikely but you never know) have you fitted one of these kits? do the linkages need adjustment at all? i removed the back part (bit around the handbrake etc) yesterday and had a perv at the original assembly and it shouldnt be to hard (famous last words) but there are a few bits in the kit that the diagram doesnt show where to go (four round stainless spacers) i cant figure out if these go on top of the plastic base or underneath (to raise it?)

Today I've just bought the quickshift for mine as a consolation for not being able to get some other bits.

I'm only guessing this, but I think you might be right because raising the base higher will move the pivot point upwards. So there's more travel below the pivot point. quicker shift.

If you don't mind me asking did they take the price of the gear knob off?

And I'd be interested in how you get on, take some pics if you can.

No when i rang then to query it they said that it was an error on the website and that you only get the knob with the five speed and that the six speed kit is entirly different from the five speed hence no gear nob although on the demon tweeks website they list a six speed TRUST gear nob for the supra (need to ask over in the supra section if the shift pattern and thread is the same )

I think richbrook have bought out a range for various 6speed boxes, it was in max power.
