Mr2 Alarm Not Deactivating

Hi

I have a 1996 10th anniversary edition Mr2. On occassions recently the alarm key fob won't open/disarm/unlock the car. Unlocking the car with the key sets the alarm off, even with the car started it continues to alarm for a while!

1. Can it be disconnected ?

2. Which is most likely: Is it the keyfob (replaced Battery & tried other one), alarm or central locking ?

3. Why is it intermittent. ?

Note: Car has high pitched noise, radio interference even with radio off/disconnected, noise not from Speakers that I think is an alternator suppressor gone but could it be related to alarm problem

Second, there is a key socket under steering wheel that I was told by previous owner that it deactivates alarm (yet to try) and that the car had an aftermarket immobiliser removed....may be this is also contributing to the problem ??

Sounds like a right pain to sort out.....any ideas at all gratefully received !!

My Alarm fitter said that if you're near a mobile phone mast or something the that interfares with the alarm signal.

Also find out where the alarm sensor thingy is that you disarm it with. My fitter said hold it close to the dash board near the steering wheel (from the outside of course)

Other than that.. Dunno
