How Can He Get That Bhp From His Mods?

Kal used to have a 200bhp rev3 n/a. That was with zorst/induction kit and Unichip.

So basically if you done that to a rev1 n/a, I would say you could get about those figures.... maybe...

Dont think it would bump it up that much..

158 to 179 ??... yeah... rev3 is about 170ish is it not??.. so 170ish to 200 is more than possible .. Kal's car was proof.

Thought Unichip boosted BHP by only 10 horses...

Anyway, why didnt he list it in his MOD's section next to his 'Aluminium racing windshield whipers'?

a dunno... lol. Can't see how he would get those figures without something like a unichip tho.

general rule of thumb with a uncgip on petrols is about 10% increase of power

When i say general i mean very general :P

I've had good experiences of superchips on cars in the past, although they don't add that much in the way of bhp they seem to really improve torque meaning it 'pulls' much better throughout the rev range. I'd like to get one for the 2 but I'm concentrating on visual mods at the minute. Haven't tried the unichip, seems a bit costly.

no offence meant, but if you want any real power increases from a n/a then it is going to be costly. Fair doos.. a filter/zorst will do a little bit. But even with a chip of some sort you can't honestly expect too much.

Turbo's on the other had are easy... up the boost and away you go. Unichip gives you an extra 25bhp or so over the same mr2 which has simply had its boost increased.

Is it safe upping the boost? I've heard several stories of engines blowing coz of too much boost.

too much obviously isn't good. There's a limit you can increase it to depending on your turbo and various mods.

My car has been fully mapped so I know it's all good and safe. People who just stick some boost controller in and just go crazy could do damage.
