Quick Fix Alarm Problem

im sure there's many people out there with Gen 6 alarm problems with it keep going off.

This is a fix if you are replacing your standard Toyota alarm with a CAT 1

take ds kick panel off and u need to cut alarm earth wire

take ps lick panel off and u need to cut alarm earth wire

If you just cut live wire the wipers will stop on

problem sloved

now all thats left is for someone to drop some pics in thread with one of those arrows pointing at the two wires to cut.

Hope this has saved you £40 or £300 at Toyota dealer

By kick panels do you mean the ones in the foot well down the side, or the ones in the bottom of the doors? Any clues on what these wires look like (colour etc), are they connected a plug or directly to the paneling via a screw?.

Currently I have disconnected the siren, so the lights just flash when I get in and out of the car. (The immobiliser doesn't seem to be working at all (if there is one))

Just to point out the original toyota alarm is a cat1, and the easiest way to stop it going off is to take everything out of the ashtray. If it still goes off pull off the gear lever gaitor just clips out and you will see the alarm sensitivity dial - turn it!

Turn out to be a simple matter of reprogramming the key fob in the end, easily done with instructions.
