As well as having the Rolla serviced today I've also had

TRD heavy duty front suspension top mounts (donated by HKS_TC_Corolla_GTi AKA Nad - I owe you one mate)

Powerflex polyuethane front suspension bump stops (replacing the worn out originals)

Goodridge S/S braided brake hoses (AE101 ones fit perfectly :D )

DOT 5.1 brake fluid.

Together with the Tarox discs and pads I had fitted earlier this month this gives me some proper stopping power :shutit: .

Pictures in my TOC garage

And in a couple of weeks time ..............

You are a busy fella recently arnt you!

well done for doing the R&D on the brakes (guess the setup on th ae111 is exacly the same as ae101 then) how are those new discs and pads settling in and performing? (i think this is the next step for me after my konis)

Ive seen the heavy duty top mounts on the fensport website and have always wondered what the advantages/purpose of these were, are the originals weak or something? or are the heavy duty just better at coping with lowered and stiffened suspension?

p.s have you done a bank job recently or wot?

Discs and pads are pretty good though I haven't done a lots of miles with them yet - I'm recovering from an operation to remove a torn cartiledge in my right knee :crybaby: and I've not been driving much or very far :crybaby: I assume that the front brakes on my 1998 Corolla SR are the same as the G6R but the G6R has discs on the back whereas I've got drums :crybaby: but I reckon that means I've got a better handbrake :shutit:

During cornering the heavy duty top mounts flex less than the stock ones so keeping the suspension geometry closer to the ideal so should improve cornering - when I get a chance to try it properly

 Who mentioned a bank job :shutit: :shutit:

The truth is that I'm a bit older (though not necessarily wiser  ) than most TOC members and probably have more disposable income. The Rolla has become my hobby so that's what I spend my spare cash on

Ross - Yes I am very lucky especially as my wife is as enthusiastic about the Rolla as I am - heaven knows why 'cos I hardly ever let her drive it  B)
