I'd take either one :D

One thing I don't care for is a 'sub 4 second 0-60' car being sold. I don't trust any heavily modded car being offered for sale...seems an easy way to get a basket case at a not so nice price.

No offence intended but your talking a rb26dett engine, Its up there with the 2JZGTE for huge power and torque.

Im a big fan of the 3sgte...but you'll never see one of those running 1000bhp, there's no replacement for displacement

Its the GTT though, so its the RB25, not 26 ;)

Skylines are expensive to run. You can contact me to ask a mate of mine who has an R33 GTS-T. New rear tyres every 6 months costing in the region of around £200. Basic service Every 3000 miles. Full service every 6000. £90 a week on petrol (with gentle driving). And then there's the added on costs of "personal taste items". Repair costs if things go mechanically wrong. Also need to consider insurance and what happens if you accidently stack it... or if someone smacks you...

All considered, I'd still go Skyline if you're bored

one of my mates has a 600+bhp R32 GTR and it's better on fuel than my GT4.

i was a nissan fan before a toyota fan but i still am in love with the 32, i'd go for it mate. parts are quiet easy to get, you just need to find where ;)

My only concern is that you are "bored" with an Mr2, a car thats know for beign quirky and fun to drive!!!

Many people have gone to skylines after supras/mr2s, etc, and reported back that they are very bland cars to drive.. bland interiors, etc.

One Lady I know got a R33 GT-St to replace her mkiii supra and decided, although the skyline was faster, it was like driving a cavaler, shes thinking of selling it to get another mkiii

Same goes for Evos..

Ok if its an RB25DET then dont bother as there is little if any performance gain.

If your gonna get an R32 make sure its a GTR as they are quite reasonable now

Never heard of a 3sgte running 1000bhp......i'll believe it when i see it, a piece of paper isnt proof enough for me ;)

Of course it's the 25DET, 20DET as well....all we have been talking about is GTS-T's, no GT-R's. IF it was a GT-R then hell yeah go for it.....there more comparable to the Supra, but GTS-T's & GTS-4's are completly different. RB25DET is the R33 GTS-25T....roughly 186 kw's, and 1370 kg's, the RB20DET in the R32 GTS-T.....roughly 160 kw's, and 1320 kg's. So compare that to the Gen III MR2 turbo, 182 kw's @ 1280 odd kg's, and Gen I & II 165 kw's @ roughly 1280 kg's.

Cheers

Right because Supra's and MR2's are luxurious and rare exotics....

I'm sure you'd say driving a WRX STI is like a Cavalier as well.

I love Toyota as much as anyone but your impartiality is in serious question here dude

IF I was going to replace my MR2 (& i don't think I EVER would...maybe add to the collection though) I'd be looking for an Evo III.

Correct.....the 25T R33 is ok, can make 220kw's ATW on average with just an exhasut, intervooler, & intake, has ceramic turbos much like the MR2 so doesn't take to rasing the boost very well....MAYBE 12 psi MAX on the OEM R33 turbo, but in saying that there quite efficient motors....a mate made the above kw figure on 10 psi. But there a bit of a whale....quite heavy :(

The R32 isn't as easy to get power from like R33....starts at a lower figure than MR2 and doesn't seem to give much more on basic mods, turbo isn't as good as the 33 series. A few guys have OK results from using the R33 turbo & front mounting but there fuel system is pretty standard....can do much with decent fuel mods etc.

what is kw's etc??... we use BHP over here mate :)

R32 GTS-T; 217 bhp (1320 kg roughly)

Gen I & II MR2 turbo; 224 bhp (1280 kg roughly)

R33 GTS-25T; 252 bhp (1370 kg roughly)

Gen III MR2 turbo; 247 bhp (1280 kg's roughly)

Hell yes....if you can find one in good nick go for it!! In virtually stock trim (just exhaust and intake) they should give an easy 12 second quarter mile

They respond to mods REALLY well too.

This car was for sale a while ago for a lot more. I have since moved house and really need the cash

Contact - David 07793733327 Edinburgh, Scotland.

Price is £8,500.

Looks STANDARD though.

Actually there seem to be a few in Scotland for sale....I can't be bother posting them all.

Cheers
