Hi - really enjoying the forums my first post though.

Anyone self-installed a cark 91 in their avensis (2001 VVTI) and willing to share best way to do it.

I used to have one in a previous avensis and remember the microphone came out of the interior spectacles case/interior light and the cradle wire went around the tranny tunnel.

Where do I site the control box? etc....

you can mount anything wherever you want, i found the easiest place to mount the cont, box is under the glove box, there it a cover of sorts that is in the passenger footwell, and mount them to that, with velcro pads........ hope this helps

thanks - -that's the flap that attaches with two metal 'pins' just below the hinge of the glovebox?

as for the rest is it just a case of putting the wires under carpets etc....?

Have you used audioleads? Are they easy to fit.

thats the place.... yeh ans it supported be 2 lugs against the bulkhead, using autoleads is a simple plug and go connection, it's literally that easy.

 so did you use an external atenna or a tax disk one. If external did you fit it to the rear screen of the hatch and how did you route it back tot he body. And to the front - - via the carpets?

  • 2 weeks later...

Right I have now completed this installation took me about 50 mins but then I wasn't rushing.

Used autoleads 06-062B lead (much easier if you use a genuine autoleads one).

A tax disc antenna.

A genuine dashmount bracket

And obviously a cark-91.

Can provide step by step if anyone is interested - but I'm also sure there are better ways to do it re-routing of cables etc.....
