Is it true that a Japanese spec MR2 has more power than a UK spec? And if so, whats the different between the 2 engines?

It's only true if the JDM car is in Japan and the UK car is in the UK. It's because Japanese fuel is 100RON and UK fuel isn't. If both cars are in the same country there would be no difference. Don't forget BHP isn't the be-all and end-all. Torque is probably more important. High BHP means you can sustain a high speed, it's the torque that produces the acceleration to get you up there.

Dont forget that Imports weigh more with the aircon/folding mirrors and other toys.

Some use octane boosters with their hi-grade 98RON fuel to push it up a bit.

CAN weigh more.......those are all options, there are plenty of GT-S versions with NO options.
