Go for the pulsar!!, u cant beat a good old fashioned turbo

Posted

nein! supra supra supra! can you do polls on toc?

Posted

And fwd!! the choice is obvious to me so what if it dunt look as good are u a poser or a petrol head?

Posted

petrol head...couldnt care bout looks but fact of the matter is, supra is rwd i.e. no power to front to corrupt steering feel i.e. it is better handling :P

I dont agree, round a track i rekon a pulsar would murder an N/A supra. But then we dont know what kind of driving the car will be most used for. If its gonna be cruising up and down the motorway all day long then sure go for the supra but twisty b roads, me personally with the type of driving i do would go for the pulsar. :)

It depends on the tracks. Skylines and Supras were developed for the Japanese GT series, which they pretty much dominated.

The Pulsar was developed for the World Rally Championship which if you look at the stats, could hardly be considered a success.

The Pulsar will have better traction in poor conditions and be more chuckable down country lanes.

Given the choice, I'd go with the Supra any day of the week. Its not as if I'm not a fan of rally replicas either, so its not genre bias. I just don't like Pulsars.

Thats sound fair enuff to me mate  u know what the say " it would be a very boring world if everybody liked the same thing "

ps. if the supra were a twin turbo there would be no contest my dads got a BPU spec supra and it goes like **** off a well polished chrome shovel.

thanks guys,

For now i've passed on that Supra - was too god to be true really & the insurance was a tad high for me...

still debating a pulsar - i've seen a few good ones aroung kent & they're always nicely done & sound sweet as hell.

Jag's given me a few others to think about - i'll wait & see what comes up -

Thanks all..

But the Pulsar never really did well in Rallies.  Always scond best compared to the Integrale, Ford Escort Cosworth, Imprezas etc.,

And it looks like a Kevved up Sunny as well.

Why is it they kill they above cars in 1/4 miles.... a 450bhp Pulsar with the correct gearbox (they tend to break them) will beat any of the bigger cars with 500 - 600 bhp! Im going for a pulsar next but be prepared to buy a Gearbox if you drive it hard. My mate has one and it managed 12.3 on the quarter and he still hasnt went down the nitrous path :o

the delta integrale is a legendary car....some are fast as f**k. only reason a pulsar would beat it is cause its a lot smaller, hence lighter.

Posted

(iv neva seen pulsar dats smaller dan an integrale?! must b jus me!)

Neway bak on topic, seriously go for da pulsar. iv driven an n/a supra and they jus aint up to scratch. quality handlin but seriosly lackin in speed! if ya cant get a tt dont bova m8!

A good quarter mile time is really just about two things - power to weight ratio & traction. The Pulsar is 4WD so gets good traction when the other car is busy wheelspinning, and becuase they're quite powerful, yet not too heavy, they have a good power to weight ratio.

A good 1/4 mile car would be demolished on a circuit by lots of other cars.

Posted

I'd definatly go for the supra the 3.0N/A still beats most cars on the road in style.

The Pulsar is about 2" shorter and narrower than the Integrale Evoluzione in road trim. Also about 60kgs lighter. It also has 10bhp more as standard over the Integrale Evo, but has much poorer torque which means that from 0-100, the bigger, heavier and less powerful car is half a second quicker.

meh. the lancia looks much bigger in person, and correct me if im wrong but the evoluzione trim came in 210hp form? yeah i saw your site :P and im italian...yay lancia!

There were quite a number of Integrales, gradually getting wider and wider. Power culminated with the EVO II KAT (there was no Evo III as many people think) at 215bhp.

wish i had your funds and expertise...in uni im thinking maybe getting a delta integrale and rebuilding it throughout....maybe ill rebuild an old vw bug to get experience first
