Hi

I have a high pitched whine coming from my alternator that comes intothe cabin. The noise increases in pitch when the an electrical load is applied. Removing the head unit made no difference as I though it was the source. I understand a uFarad capacity which I have or a Noise supressor can smooth out the ripples caused by the alternator when it converts from AC/DC.

Fitting it is the problem. Access to the alternator is a pig and I was hopng there is somewhere else I can place this item that just has a 12V+ and ground. Somewher near the Battery ?? Or is a suppressor better aka maplins type for 4.99

Thanks

JM

if the noice is from your Speakers, try a ground loop isolator on your stereo system

While the ground loop appears to be easier to fit I don't think the nosie is from the Speakers, it is justs in the cabin. I think the noise suppressor is more likely to be a fix, but I don't know where is the best place to fit it that is accessable. Could be resonnance from some other electrical item but the interference also pops up on the radio which makes me think it is the alternator (diodes) at fault.

Thanks

JM
