Those of you that have taken an interest in my prevoius post regarding removal of my centre console to enable me to fit my quickshift kit will know that the plan was to start on wednesday, but i thought that i would start after work today (3ish) just in case the worst happened and i f*****d it up, so i would have a day to sort it. But i have just returned after a quick test drive (with lots of quick shifting  ) after fitting the kit in just over two hours, actually fitting the new gearstick assembly and connecting the rods back up was the easiest part of the whole experience whereas removing most of the dash was not difficult, it was very time consuming and a bit of a headf**k especially as i forgot to tighten one of the linkages and only realised this after reassembling the dash :censor:

this is before

before

during

during

This is the original setup, the quickshift kit comprises the gearstick and the white plastic/polycarbonate frame

original assembly

This is after, the gaiter looks a bit iffy cos the shaft is shorter (i didnt measure the difference but its about an inch ish)

after

This is from the top after fitting, when in neutral the gearstick sits further back and off centre to the original (feels good to use like this) sorry about the flash

top

Before i fitted the kit i measured the throw before and after, the measurements were from the neutral line going from 3rd to 4th

Before 5ins

After 3.5-3.7 ish

the gearchange has never been "smooth" on my car (its a bit notchy i think there all (6spd) like this though) and fitting the kit has not changed this but the gearchange is a lot quicker and makes driving the car feel alot different and dare i say it, sportier to drive.

overall i would recommend it even though its nearly 190 quid its worth it

p.s Knowlson many thanks for you help with centre console removal, without your help it would of taken alot longer

:group-cuddles:
