Gear box is different, cause the 4age gearbox has more tourqe through all gears, and more speed in 1st and 2nd.

The engine will fit, its been done in australia many a time, but best not to get one out of an mr2, but out of a corolla GT rwd, but they are expensive to get hold of!

Cause the mr2 engine is in the back of the car and its a rwd, so when you put the engine in the bulk head will be a problem for the pelenium cahnmber and the distriubutor. In the other 4age from the rwd corolla they moved the distriubutor and the pelenium chamber is back to front so it fits in snuggly.

Plus when you put an engine like this into your car, upgrading brakes and suspension is advisable, cause the power difference is huge.

What model corolla do you have and what engine model is in it?

search google for corolla conversions in australia and ull find loads of info,

cheers,

Kamran
