hi there everyone. Does anybody know if the speedo, rev counter, fuel gauge e.t.c from a t-sport will fit into any other yaris.

I have a sr and i cannot get on with the digital fuel gauge. it drives me mad. so if any one can help, i would love to know.

Thanks

I believe that the TSport has the digital Fuel gauge still and the speedo and Rev counter are analogue. Correct me if i'm wrong though.

I know what you mean about the fuel gauge when it is flashing you dont know sometimes if its just started flashing or about to cut out on you!!

I love it, think it's great! Prefer it to analogue  but yeah it's not very accurate sometimes

Yeah that digital fuel guage is a bugger - even with the amount of miles left it still has caught me out in the past.....

I think the signal is still digital on the analogue display so it could be possible!

its just you dont know how much further you can go when its flashing. the most i have gone is about 35 miles. ive been told you can do 50. but i dont wanna try. it just frustrates me watching it.

yeah the signal will be digital. no cables these days. ill have to talk to my mates at toyota.

I am convinced it would be a straight swap mate, just take it out and swap for a tsport one, am pretty sure all the plugs would be in the same place too, i know all the signals are the same and i cant see why toyota would change this..

Yeah, I never get that one either. "My guage is flashing. I'll just drive past these next three petrol stations to see if it's accurate or not."

I was considering having T sport gauges myself as well, well was going to look into the possibility as i would prefer old skool dials compared to the digi dash :)

Let us know how ya get on fella

cheers

I have a SR with the digital dash and also a TS with the analogue dials!

I prefer the look od the analogue dials but find the digi display alot more usefull! For instance on the TS all the wrong speeds are highlighted, instead of 30, 50 and 70(as most speed limits are its all even numbers highlighted! Also if ist very bright out or at night theres oncoming traffic when looking at the speedo it takes a second for your eyes to adjust to see the small 30mph line!I think it would help id the numbers and needle was illuminated and not the whole dial!

Is it just me???

Must admit i like the look of the Analogue dials, but the digital display is much easier to use.

On the subject of the petrol gauge.... use your 'Trip B' function to work out what miles you roughly do.... then fill up when you estimate you're empty! When the bar starts flashing (equivalent to a petrol light coming on) it means there is one gallon of petrol left in the tank.... plus whatever is in the pipes etc.... then the vapours and then the scum from the sides of the tank! Plenty to carry you around!

The T-Sport fuel guage doesn't flash :D You just get a yellow petrol pump light come on.

I love the digital display... it rocks! i wish you could get it in the TSport as I think the white dials are naff! :P hehee but then again its all personal taste...

Right... basically... and I think its the same on every car... when you get down to the last bar (or flashing... or the light comes on) you have about a gallon left... regardless...

Now... a gallon in a yaris can last anything from about 20 - 50 miles depending on how you drive... its all down to that.

Drive it like a mentalist with heavy feet and it wont last long... drive with conserving petrol in every aspect and it will last...

I have had my Yaris registering 50.1mpg on the display before (it was motorway driving and I was being cautious - just had to see how well it would go) ... but usually I will get 35-40 out of it.

At the end of the day... it flashes.. .you fill up... is it really that difficult? :P lol

I'm intrigued by the digital displays because we don't get them here. All of the Echo's and Scions have standard analog gauges.

Is there any way someone can post a pic of the digital speedometer etc. all lit up so I could see what that looks like? :)

Cool. Thanks Seveer!

Is that your stereo unit at the bottom of the picture? It has an outside temperature gauge? That's pretty sweet. I wish I had that....

How does your tachometer work? There is no needle obviously so how does it indicate what RPM you're at?

Scionic, you see here is a close up

the numbers 0-7 on the arch is the tachometer, all it does is "fill up"

Ill try and get a picture while im reving it sometime

Yeah, I've never taken a pic whilst revving the engine. It's a bit tricky getting any close up pics at all as it is set at infinity so your eyes, in theory, don't need to refocus when you look from through the screen to the dash.

This pic shows you all the bits that can light up though. Notice the bars for the rev counter.

Those are from a Phase two... truly inferior! Phase one looks better!

This is the close up of Phase one... when it revs there are bars that go all the way up the line to indicate what revs you're running at.

Yes, Scionic, that bottom bit is my stereo, well, the top half of it... there are two half, that bit which is the display that has clock, temperature, trip computer, MPG, average speed and also track number and time... and the radio station.

Then there is the bottom bit which is the cd player (or tape on lower models) which has the radio buttons, also scan, random etc.

Infact, here's a pic!
