5s-fe To 3s-gte

I'll buy a 3S-GTE for my Celica. It's a Carlos Saint.. more than 300 HP with a liquid cooler.. turbo etc..

I've some question before the swap.

Does my 5S-FE clutch fit on a MR2 3S-GTE..?

With the font engine.. does a MR2 Short Shifter will fit..?

Is that Bolt-On..? 5s-FE to 3S-GTE..

So.. I want to know everything that I've to know about the swap to prepare myself for the cash and the swap.. thank a lot..

5sfe will not fit, you will need the correct clutch and i reccomend an uprated clutch to handle 300bhp.

mr2 short shifter will not fit - you need a 182 short shifter.

3sgte will bolt straight in. you will need loom and ecu. you will also need bonnet vents for adequate cooling of engine bay.

you will need to upgrade rear drums to discs.

fuel pump may need upgraded.

Not many people in the UK have done the swap. Mostly USA owners.

why dont you turbo the 2.2? it will have a lot more power

As i understand it you need the transmission from an MR2 turbo (which will bolt straight onto your turbo engine), you need to fit the gear selector from an ALLTRAC (GT4) onto the gearbox so that your gear lever will operate it. Make sure the transmission you get has a limited slip differential otherwise when trying to put 300 hp through the front wheels you'll end up with too much torque steer and the car will be almost undriveable.
