A Little Help From The Yaris Experts?

I know these are obviously trim/equipment levels, but can someone sort them out for me so I know what people are talking about?

I know T-sport is the 1.5 liter Yaris with lower chassis and different interior(?)

I'm guessing T-spirit is the top model 1.3(?)

The D4-D is just called "D4-D" then and avaible in one trim level?

What am I missing? What's CDX? Previous generation?

How about SR?

Thanks in advance to whom ever has the patience to answer

OK, checked out Toyota UK.

I understand T2, T3, T-spirit and T-sport now.

Where does CDX, SR and D4-D fit in?

roughly...............

CDX is the old T-spirit - luxury pack etc...

SR was before the Tsport - lowered, exhaust, spoiler, alloys etc.. (but only 1.3)

And just to confuse you slightly more.....

The "Blue" and "Colour Collection" models slot in between the T3 and T-Spirit in the range!

And a little more confusion...

The D4-D is not available in "Blue" or "Colour Collection".

O..K.. I think I got it.

CDX sounds dieselly to me. Must be the "D"

Alright, so SR and CDX are first-gen Yari, right? Where's the GS fit in there?

Colour collection I saw on the website, yep...

So is there such a thing as a T-spirit D4-D?

The CDX -isnt- Dieselly *sigh.... its a Trim ...

The CDX was the top of the range Yaris Trim from the older P1 Yaris range...

It is actually a bit better than the TSpirit in some trim respects I believe... as it has a few extras that even the TSpirit doesnt have... eg the metal front grill.

However... you could get the 1litre and the 1.3litre with CDX Trim... the TSpirit is the 1.3 only...

It used to G, GS, GLS, CDX, SR and then T-Sport.

Now it goes T2, T3, Blue, Colour collection, T-Spirit and then T-Sport.

I think the Blue, the Colour collection and the T-Spirit are all interchangable though, they are as good as each other I think!

And as mentioned before u can get the D4-D engine in most trim levels!

Phase One:

Engines

1.0, 1.3 and in 2000 1.5

Trim Levels

S, GS, GLS, CDX, SR, T-Sport

The SR was the top model before the T-Sport, it had all the CDX did but with sports exhaust, spoiler, suspension, alloys and different interior upholstery.

Phase Two

Engines

Upgraded versions of the 1.0, 1.3 and inclusion of D4-D. 1.5 stayed the same

Trim Levels

T2, T3, Blue, Colour Collection, T-Spirit, T-Sport

The Blue is the same at the T3, but with chrome exhaust, blue colours, chrome trim inside and a spoiler i think.

The Colour Collection is a set of special colours that come with spoiler, Air-Con, alloys, chrome exhaust trim and interior and i think thats it!

The phase two is slightly re-designed with different front, a better quality interior (squred buttons, better plastics, better seats etc)

Think that's it, hope it helps!!

Except that Seveer forgot to mention that there was also a phase 1 Colour Collection!

Oh, and before Scionic or anyone else asks, there's no T1 Yaris. I read somewhere that Toyota thought no-one would want to buy it as it would be so obviously the base model!

The logic of marketing people, eh? ;)

Makes sense I suppose....

So why not T2, T3, T4 (instead of T-Spirit)?? :D

No he isn't! You could also get the D-4D on the Phase 1, but it was introducted very last on.

*runs away and hides

I don't get that either... My Mum drives a Rav-4 XT-4, not an XT-Spirit. (I've just realised that makes it a Rax-4 XT-4 D-4D. Naturally that's a 4x4... )

Alloys is an option on the Blue!

The Colour Collection and Blue 1.0L come with standard hubs - the 1.3 is the version which gets alloys on them
