Sr 1.3 Engines

Sorry everybody. i just wanna clear sumin up.

My 52 reg Sr is a french made one. One of the last SR made, so i have been told. My induction is at the back with the exhaust manifold on the back.

The older SRs have it the opposite way. am i right. so what induction kit can i fit to it.

YARIS NUT. yours must be the older one with the inlet at the front and exhaust at the back. is that right.

If you go to the forum topic title. INDUCTION KIT FITTED. My engine bay looks the same as ARMOUREDFISTS engine bay. So that would mean i could fit one of those induction kits?

I suppose if your engine looks the same as his then yeah, get the GReddy one he has got!

I never knew Yaris SR's had the 'new' 1.3 though, you sure its a SR? Has it got a leather steering wheel?

Hmm .. very stange to me, as i got mine in late July 02 and it has the 2NZ-FE engine. You sure it looks like this:

And not like this? (Note the air intake is on the right-handside of the engine and not on the top).

As the later SR's came with a chrome exhaust trim as opposed to the older ones with had a TTE backbox. Thats the only difference i know of since the TTE springs and others remained unchanged.

The best thing to do is to check the engine code and see what engine it is (it should be printed on the engine somewhere). Then you'd know which induction kits you'd be able to fit.

The SR was discontinued before the new engine was released. If it's got the newer 1.3 engine in then it sounds very dodgy to me. Did you buy it from a dealer?

If it's totally legit though then you have possibly the only SR with that engine!

Is it actually a different motor entirely, or is it just a 2NZFE with some small differences and mounted opposite in the car so that the intake is on the other side?

Entirely different motor, the SR should have the engine that looks like the T-Sport one!
