hey all, just wondering If anyone fancies a track day for all the scottish bunch?

Who would be up for it within the next 3 months?

can anyone think ofa track or airfield in scotland that allows a private open pit track session?

I'll check out a few track day organising companies and see what they suggest.

p.s I have been talking to the Northern TOC members and we're gonna try and arrange a combined meet soon, Its gonna be at Envy Performance in Newcastle we think, Would anyone be up for this too?

cheers,

Michael.

I'm up for both mate, the newcastle one is only about an hours drive for me and the track day should be a laugh!

Cant think of anywhere other than crail though and i doubt the do private days,

Unless we just go there on a week there's nothing else on so we get plenty of track time??

Track day sounds interesting and doing a combined meet with the northerners would be great! (hey, Newcastle's not that far  )

I'm trying to imagine my wee car on a track day - chug chug chug - round the corner - eeekeeekeeeeeek from the crappy tyres - chug chug chug up the next straight..... Oh well!

I was going to say that i would be chugging behind you.. but no.. i won't i'm not that way inclined tbh. :bye:

Anyway... combined meet sounds interesting (just make it a day that i'm NOT working) Newcastle isn't too far to travel.. and would be an interesting sight on the A1 (convoy)

Track day... i only know of Crail and Knockhill.. but like was said before i don't know if either would do private track days.

Just off the top of my head, we could do a track day combined with the Northern bunch of pansies, Elvington is not far off Newcastle, I think they might even be arranging one just now, I'll check... thats a proper track too, bit further to travel though, but thats half the fun....we should think about walkie talkies, great things for convoys!!!

I would also be up for both, sounds brilliant! A bit of notice would also be lovely as I need days off work etc etc!

Crail do private track days, strathycruise had their own trackday not so long ago and from memory its not that expensive! Might need quite big numbers though!

Hang about! I can see this getting further and further south here... We'll end up at Brands Hatch at this rate

I can borrow a set of cheapie walkie-talkies from work... "10-4 rubber duck" and all that stuff...

Can Crail setup a circuit though, I don't mean quarter mile crap nor that stupid figure of 8 thing.

That could be good, I'll speak to them and see what the deal is.

We need to get some TOC fliers out and about Scotland, loads of modded Toyotas that have no idea about this club!

knockhill do a private track evening, can't remember the prices but it's well worth it.

crail can set up a track but TBH it's not that good, you need to dodge the pot holes as well as find a racing line.

either way i won't be up for it any time this year, funds are tight :(

Knockhill would probably be the only option I think.

I would definitely be up for the combined meet! Not been down to Newcastle in a while and would be a good chance to get to know the northern lot.

hey also a newbie, but sounds good. Fifecruisers website are trying this soon. Here's the relevant info:

If you are interested in a tracknite and would like to attend please contact - Dougie @ Trix on 01383726777 or email - TRIX2702 @ aol.com and he will start a list with people that are interested. Generally it will be £40 for the night and it will be between 5pm-7pm with track briefing at 4.30pm. Payment can be accepted by card and cash prior to the event. We are looking to make this a regular event up at knockhill so we need to make this work the first time round, i.e. no numpty's. It should be good night judging on previous nights that we have been at.

Thats whats on fifecruisers website.
