Just had my better half motor MOT'd yesterday..and got one of these new MOT's which the MOT's test station must also enter the details of which on-line.

Anyone can now check up on another Car's MOT history and any "observations" the test station might have had...pass or fail.

Can check the MOT history from here: MOT INFO

This now also means you can get your car TAX on-line as the DVLA database can check your insurance and MOT status.

OBviously all in really there to ensure people are insured / MOT'd etc.

Sorry if you already new..but apparently we were the first one at this garage.

Had never heard of that before! Sounds good tho, my Dad will be getting one on his Fiesta next March then..that's the next one in line for an MOT!

This is to stop people from obtaining forged MOT certificates, and rightly so.. i was once arrested while getting my road tax on a 2nd hand car i had just bought, it was a laser disc photocopy.. i got the recorded interviews and everything by CID.. (in the end i got the problem sorted and a full new MOT)

What it doesn't stop, is a dodgy garage giving out certifacates (all legal and above board) for a car that should have failed.. so it's still a case of buyer beware.

yeah. i work for a main dealer and we all are being trained to do mots. its all gonna be online. there will web cams watching us carrying out them is well.
