Scooby Shootout 2005

Well it was a long day starting at 6am, I am absolutly shattered now! I think the late night on Saturday working on the car really took it out of me. The weather was a little indifferent on the day a few showers here and there, but the track seamed to dry pretty quickly.

It was the first time I have had the Supra back on the track since last years TOTB and I was a little rusty on the startline. I also had a few new toys to play with that were quite distracting . Also learned how to do a burnout today, not as easy as some may think.

Did 7 runs in total, had a few nightmares where I triggered the timer b4 I ran and stalled the car once very embarsing!

The best times were as follows:

1/4 - 11.87

ET - 2.057

Speed - 131mph

1/4 - 11.92

ET - 2.046

Speed - 129

1/4 - 12.07

ET - 2.083

Speed - 131mph

Shoot out Q/F against a skyline which I lost. The skyline killed me on the start but I realed him in but just could not catch him b4 the line... Must launch better!

1/4 - 12.10

ET - 12.177

Speed - 131MPH

Hopefully these time should qualify me for TOTB. Someone post some pics up!

Thanks

Kevin

Great stuff Kev, just out of curiosity how difficult are you finding it to get traction off the line? What size rubber are you running? (just need to figure out my own car)

Hi Lee, I was running 16" Mickey Thompson ET Streets on the rear and 16" skinnies on the front.

Its really hard to get off the line in a 6 speed, the built auto's have a real advantage there.

At the kind of power your putting out in, you may want to invest in a set of 275/40/17 BFG Drag Radials.

Thanks

Kevin
