Mk3 Engine Block Refurbishers?

Hi, I'm looking for info on any reputable UK companies who would stock a refurbished block for a '90 Mk3 non-turbo. I've got a crack in mine which can't be repaired, so I'm trying to get a new one. All I've came across so far is salvaged engines, but I'd rather go for something I know is working and won't cause any problems, as I wouldn't be able to hear a salvaged engine running beforehand.

At most I can spare about 500 max to get a block. I'm on the verge of pricing one from Toyota, but past experience of pricing new parts from them has taught me that I may as well just bend over.

Also, has anyone came across any companies doing aftermarket rear-lights for the MK3? I'm fed up with the patheticly designed drainage down the side of the rear-hatch, which kindly directs any and all water into the light seals. I saw a pic of a MK3 which had a MK4 light conversion done and it looked quite good. It's something I'm considering if I can't find any 3rd party models.

Regards

Mark

If you buy from breakers, most will have a 90 day guarantee!!

I just bought a 3.0 turbo for my girlfriends car woth turbo, pumps, etc for £295 plus vat and delivery... -a LOT cheaper then a reconned one! if its rubbish I'll claim on warantee!

I'm NOT try and get one from toyota.. that would bea joke, be cheaper to buy another car! (I have a good mk3 N/A for sale - see the for sale section)

AS for the rear lights.. I'm not quite sure what your problem is... are the lights then selves leaking water into the boot/light cluster??

JDM rear lights are the way to go!!!
