Unfortunately in Great Britain all the 4AGE Engined Toyotas (AE82 GT, AE86 rwd GT, AE92 GTi and MK1 MR2) had injection systems fitted to them as opposed to carbs.

However in the past I do know of people with AE86's who have fitted a pair of 45DCOE Webbers, of which manifolds are available. but all this would come at a horrific price (and even more horiffic fuel consumption)!

Perhaps someone else could advise here? ...and correct me if I have given wrong info!

P.S. I did here somewhere on this forum that for some markets the very earlist MK1 MR2's for the first year were Carburettor as opposed to injection. Again please correct me if this is wrong.

You can bolt on a something like a Weber 40-45 DCOE or a Dell'Orto 40-45 DHLA, however in my opinion these are too big for a 1.3 engine. The smallest main venturi size you can get for a 40 series is 24, which will be just on the edge for your engine. Maybe look at something like a Weber 32/36 DGV downdraught carburettor. Either way you'll have to have them rejetted to suit your engine.

I have no idea for any available manifold for a 2E engine, but it's prolly not that hard to make one up from your original manifold if you go for a downdraught.

The 4 A-GE has electronic fuel injection, that's what the "E" stands for, although some people have converted them to carburettor (and ditched the ECU too ;) ).

Twincam: Some of the first MR2's had carburettors but those had the 1.5 3A-LU engine.

Yves.
