Am i like the only dood who has unhelpful toyota dealer people? I want trade my car in at the end of the year for a t sport. before i do i have this itch to do a few little things purely out of boredom and hobby. wanted some parts for my 1.0L GLS but Mr T wants a chassis number or part number before he gives me any assistance? I wish i lived near camshaft as he has helped me out a lot.

Enough moaning, will there be a meet closer to london?

Toyota's near me are the same. They either want the chassis number or the number plate. They say its due to parts being slightly different. My dad for example, had his side mirror replaced, they needed the chassis number to make sure they get the right size glass for his particular mirror.

Is that right camshaft or are they just being a pain?

i thought it made sense until camshaft and one other guy who works part time at the dealer finds the part by bringing up pictures on the screen. he is helpful (must be related to camshaft! :D ) problem is he doesn't work on a saturday!

yea, the Microcat system is great, It lists all the parts according to you reg/chassis, if you give them your reg/chassis number then they will know for defo that for example in you case the particular mirror you are looking for is 100% right, it fool proof as it has to be for some main dealers, who need a hand to wipe there own :censor: , you see most parts people have no product knowledge so have to rely on it, but like most of us here we know the yaris inside out then we know what fit what from where, year and spec of the car. so yea they may need your reg/chassis

Gordypix put a thread in General about a Herts/Essex meet? No location decided yet tho but that might be better for you?

i know what you mean. but i work for a lexus dealer. were the same with parts. the reason why they do that is because different models have slightly different parts. maybe diiferent sizes. or newer cars have modified parts. The reason why they want a chassis number, so they can get the exactdate of manufacteur of your car and get the right part.

yeah it kinda makes sense with certain parts, it's just certain parts like a heater knob will definately fit, but they get funny about it and just repeat themselves and say 'part number or chassis number pls...' i wanted to walk outside and give him the numberplate from the t sport they had on the forecourt :ffs:

just lost my patience with his inability to deliver me customer service
