Eco Dash Light

I have a T reg Avensis SE 1.8, I have just come back from a 750 mile round trip from home to Plymouth and back. The "ECO" light that normally stays on during "sensible" driving does not light up anymore.

I have been told it is probably an engine, fuel, oil sensor?

There is no decreased performance from the engine or increased fuel loss, infact the car seems to be running much sweeter and picks up better??

Can anybody help with this problem?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi,

It's normally just the bulb which blows - easy job to do.

Disconnect the Negative terminal of the Battery.

Remove the 2 self tapping screws on the black instrument facia.

Remove the 4 screws holding the dash cluster in.

Slide the cluster towards you and tip upside down to get access to the bulb and replace it.

Refit in reverse order.

With the drivers door open - reconnect the Negative Battery terminal(the Central locking will activate when you connect the Battery, and if the door is closed and keys in the ignition, you will feel daft!) :crybaby:

You have just saved £55.00 + vat labour!

Hope this helps ,

Nick

I doubt you are doing anything wrong. What year is your car? You may have to remove column shrouds to bring fascia forward this will then expose the dash which is held in with 4 screws.

Good luck,

Nick...........

Sorry for the late reply but i've been on me hols :D

Firstly no need to disconnect the Battery and it's 3 screws once you have got the cover off, you can also clip off the 2 terminals to the clocks to make things easier and to remove the facia drop the steering column to the lowest setting

Ken,

Cheers for the reply, superb styling BTW.

Looking at your mods performance wise, I'm looking at increasing my BHP any ideas, also what size tyres and wheels can you uprate to (currently 195 60 /15) without increasing the size of the arches?

Any specs on your engine ie filters etc would be appreciated, any photos too?

Regards

Ian
