I'm thinking of getting the windows tinted 1st but the insurance company i'm with dont allow you 'til your 25. :( It's Privilege btw.

What company is everyone else with? And do they let you have tinted windows under the age of 25?

im with norwich union on their rapid bonus 9month thing. They allow any mods (im 18 btw) but they do make you pay a bit...

They cahrged me £94 extra for having aftermarket alloys. Tints should be less...i hope!!! :D

tesco were very relaxed about mods. didnt even ask too much detail (ie, which windows were tinted, how dark, etc) and im 23. they charge a little extra, but quoted me a very good price! and the guy on the phone was very helpful!

Insurors actually care if your windows are tinted? And which ones?

God... only in the UK. How absurd...

I thought our insurance companies were bad, but they don't even ask about mods at all. You can be supercharged and your rates are the same.

If u want ur windows tinted without any hassle, my mate is a window tinter. He'll do the whole car for £120 if ur interested. Its saves u a few quid.

The reason MODS have to be declared is because they make the car a higher "risk" as it will be more attractive to thieves..if you did make a claim and you were found to have unsdisclosed mods then your policy COULD be voided/cancelled.

Well, i picked it up today - and you could say its slightly better than the 1.0! :D

It's soooo much more fun to drive, yet strange not hearing it have a heart attack when i'm pushing it.

I've got just over a month till my insurance is up so i'll shop around for a place that'll let me have the tints and is still a good price - dont want to chance getting them done now.

And i decided on black in the end.

I'll need to get some pics up soon. :)
