cheers mate, hope to keep it nice too, theres more to come styling wise, but nothing drastic.

Nice one - struck a cord with me as well, my 2002 Estima is in for a few mods once it arrives, a camera being one of them! I've had one stashed away for the last couple of months - from your pics it might be the same one (colour CMOS off Ebay) and it was interesting to see how you've done it. I always like to keep the wires out of sight as well! TV looks good too, but I think I'll stay with my small screens so the kids can watch different things if they want to. Keep me posted though - I'll do likewise once ours arrives (end June - can't wait!!!)

no worries, generally, ill just post up new stuff as and when i do it straight onto the site, so just keep checking back.

in my other previous cars, i had seperate smaller screens, but in this, i thought, for the price of it (250) it saves me installing many screens. In the previa i would need at least 4 screens so everyone has a good view, by using a 17" one, the traffic behind can watch too! LOL

The world is full of posers!!!!!!!!

But I will keep checking back to see how it's going - looks good so far!

well, spent a few hours after work last night, burning the midnight oil, getting my new headunit installed. The majority of it is done, see site for details.

looking good.

you might find when you upgrade the Speakers that a healthy dose of dynamat is in order.

the front doors on mine tend to rattle a bit with the low stuff.

yeah, i have some lying around i was gonna use, but i think it'll be a while before the Speakers are changed. I must admit, the factory ones arent bad, good clear quality, but cant handle much bass.

the only thing i know im gonna have trouble with is the front door panels. Ive managed to get the lower part off, but there seems to be something stopping the top half, any tips? dont wanna knack nowt.

Nice to see the mini-site updates are still going strong  - it's giving me plenty of food for thought for when mine arrives! So what's next on the hit list? :)

Whatever it is, keep 'em coming!!!!!

well, ive another post on the forum on building of my sound system, my other cars getting bought tomorow, so i should have the money to buy the gear which goes into it completing the system. Im waiting on my back box, oh and i should be getting my alloys by the weekend. Other bigger things on the list are an imported bodykit, maybe supercharge it but not until next year me thinks.

Will you PLEASE stop moving the goalposts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Yeah I read the sound system one too - very tidy! What bodykit have you got your eyes on? There's masses of them in Japan, some very nice, others a bit over the top! Get the right one though and it can transform the car into something quite sleek. But could you hold off for a bit though, as I'd like mine to be fairly unique at least for the first couple of weeks of owning it!!!!!!!!

dont worry :) this wont be till next year at the soonest i reckon. its either gonna be a kenstyle one or a kit from fabulous. Not sure yet, plus ive gotta find someone to import it but i do have a contact in mind.

Have you thought about asking someone who is about to bring a car over if you could chuck a bodykit (or other bits) in the back for a few quid? I used a company called Autoadvan for my import, and on their forum this has come up as a topic before. Autoadvan certainly weren't against the idea. Would save on the customs charge if you can get someone to agree to it.

yeah, thats exactly how i intend to do it, either incar, or in container. The people i have in mind are quite a big skyline tuning company, cant say no more.

Fair enough! Good luck when you get round to it though, and I'll look forward to seeing the wheel update soon! Should be collecting mine this Friday from the docks, so I'll drop a few pics your way if you're interested. :)

definately, send them to kevshek@blueyonder.co.uk

always interested in how the other half do it, you may even get a few added extra on that, knowing how crazy the !Removed! are with motors.

Posted

Will do, and I just hope any bonus extras are excluding un-announced scratches etc. acquired on the journey over here!!!! I know it's got a few things added apart from the bodykit but I'll do a proper job and update my profile with all the details once I get my hands on it. Out of interest, Kev, how do you find living with yours is, generally?

mines great, i used to have the old shape, that was good also, but old and tired. ive got 3 kids, there plenty of room, driving is a breeze althou parking can be a pain, but the cars got everything i need for everyday use aswell as long hauls. after owing a big vehicle like this, i find it hard going back to a mid sized family saloon. This is the only MPV i like thou, i think its the best all rounder and looks.

Same here - we've got 3 herberts, growing too fast but there's still plenty of room in our 98 Lucida, and although I looked at others again, the Toyota still wins for me, even though I don't think the seats look as versatile as the old shape. (our new one is 8 seats same as our old Lucida). Was after a diesel but apparently that's a no go for personally imported Jap cars now, but not too bothered as unleaded is cheaper now anyway!

site updated with todays, last nights and even last weeks fiddlings :D
