Global Closing Of Windows

Hi, can you close or open the windows using the keyfob? Ie. when you lock it, all the windows close.

given that none of the electrics work when the key isnt in the ignition i wouldnt have thought so. you could rewire the system yourself to do it.

Actually there is electricity even when you remove the key. Try the petrol filler door. Another thing is that the power windows can be raised when the key is removed but as soon as you open the door you can no longer raise them without turning on the ignition.

There is no global close as far as I'm aware.

Most vehicles use multiplex system ( CAN - Mini network in car ) to achieve this. Other than this, hardwiring via door lock control module is the only method.

It's a lot of hassle for what you get out of it!

u can global close the windows by using the key in the door, turn the key as u would to dead lock the car and hold it there for a few secs, this should close all windows

I may not have done it correctly though

here's what I did:

Opened door.

key in - turn to get all power

wind down windows

key out

open door, shut door

key in door lock, turn and hold

door locks, but doesn't dead lock.

No movement of windows detected :(

What did I miss?

It only works (turning and holding the key in the door lock) for VW cars and some other german ones. NOT for Toyota. You better forget about it, you'll not menage to do it. I have alarm that automaticaly closes all windows but no way of opening them before getting into the car.

I've found a german guy, that makes a comfort-module for the car which allow you to close the windows by three clicks on the remote.

It can also retract the mirrors through remote.

Another module he's made is automatic adjustment of volume on the radio
