If you're interested - Sky Insurance is one of the sponsors on the MR2 OC site.

I got a fantastic quote from them.

If you join the MR2OC you get a further discount - and it's onlu a fiver to join.

I got quoted £90 less than my best price and the excess is £100-£150 less than the rest offered!

How hard can it be to do an online insurance quote?

How can we answer a vague question like that?

What mr2 is it?

where do you live ?

How many points do you have?

Whats the weather like tomorrow???

Try an online quote first takes just a tiny bit more effort than posting a topic!

Sorry, just hate these insurance post where ppl havent even tried helping themselves :!Removed!:

If you look around specialist insurers who will insure young drivers on sports cars, you might get a policy on a UK spec N/A. Forget about an import (let alone turbo).

Even on the N/A expect to pay more than the car is worth. It might be better starting out on a MKI or other smaller engined car for a couple of year to get age and some NCB on your side.

Also Pass Plus and AIM certificates help ;)

I am 20 and have insured an MR2 T-Bar (non turbo) and have 0 no claims. However i am married and have been driving for 3 yrs. All my mates are paying over 1k on clios, corsas, fiesta etc and my quote came back at 790 Fully comp

worth ago but dont forget i am married and my wife is 23 who is also on my insurance policy as it reduces it.

Realistically if you manage to get a quote i would say your looking at a minimum of £1500

Mk1 or mk2?

I had a mk1 at 19 with no no claims and was paying about £1000 tpft. Then again my house mate at the time who was the same age with no no claims was paying slightly more than me for a battered old ford.

A mk2 n/a... well they put my insurance up for that when I changed from a 3lt twin turbo supra so go figure.

If you want a good quote on an Mr2 and your a young driver try Highway insurance through a broker called HIC. You can give em a ring on 08451 290 290 for a quote (I just happen to have the # cos I renewed this week). They'll also let you pay monthly or in quarters (for a slight hike).

I'm 19 with 2yrs NCB and pass plus, and I got my insurance for about £1680 third party fire and theft. They really hate young drivers!!! :censor:
