How To Check Sat Nav System Without Cd

I recently bought a used Toyota Corolla 1.6 GLS 2000 Reg. The dealer said there is a Sat Nav in the car, but the CD is missing. I just want to know how can I check if the car has Sat Nav installed in it before I buy the CD from a Toyota dealer? Can any Toyota owners help please? Thanks in advance.

Are you sure the CD is missing - check that the ignition is on and then try to eject the CD - it only comes out when ignition is on so many people make the mistake of thinking it's not there.

No. I know that the CD is missing. I can play audio CDs in the 6-CD changer, and everything works fine there, so that's not a question. However I am assuming that the SAT NAV CD goes into the same 6-CD Changer. Please correct me if I'm wrong... or is there a separate slot for SAT NAV CD ?!?!?

What's the simplest way of checking if the SAT NAV system exists on the CAR or not? without the CD of course.

The sat nav is a separate unit to the 'music' cd changer. Most likely in boot / hatch ?

I will be surprised if your car has it - but I'm no expert.

Well... the sat nav compatible display and the NAVI button is there in the head unit, and Toyota lists sat nav as an optional accessary in the spec, so there are all chances of it to be there. anyway, can I get a manual from somewhere? This would be most probably TNS 200 - as most corollas of similar age had TNS 200 if they had it factory fitted. Any idea where can I get a soft copy for TNS 200 manual?

You can order a new manual for the TNS200 sat nav from any main Toyota dealer - the part number is PZ420-ON23U-EU - should cost around a fiver.
