Ive just started work after leaving uni and Ive got a company car now so I dont NEED the Corolla anymore as I can do all personal mileage in this car. However I do want to keep her or another car for the weekend e.t.c

Im just not 100% on what to do?

I'd love to keep the Corolla as they are pretty rare but I dont know if its worth it or if I should opt for a different, more powerful car to start with?

Any comments welcome.

Cheers! :D

All depends on what you can budget for - insurance on a GT4 would be way higher for example I guess. I voted GT4 by the way just in case you can justify it.

Insurance shouldnt be a problem. Had a wee scan and got some quotes and shouldnt be a problem.

Lol, nah, cheers for the offer though mate! :)

obvoiusly im a bit biased but i think that if your only going to use the car for pleasure then go for the 3sgte conversion it would be a good project and be a "wee bit special" at the same time,

or if you really want to go mental 1.8 tsport engine and supercharger would upset knowlson and ae111sr no end :ph34r:

Yeah... get it in there then!

Oh - am the only person to have voted for that so far

The one of a T-Sport sounds an even better idea though ;)

There's always another option Ross - put the 20v 1.6 4A-GA in it and then put the Blitz turbo kit on that. £6000 for the Blitz (yes that's 6 grand :shuubik: ). I've seen the engine with the kit but it's still waiting to be installed - and no it's not mine!!!!!

Yeah, kind of disregarded the 20v engine and the turbo kit is maybe a wee bit pricey, lol.

Buy Bibbs car or one like it.

That is what I voted for. Perfect weekend car really, and that what you said you wanted.

An engine swap won't turn the Corolla into an authentic sports car.

  • 1 year later...

Im kind of wondering the same, ive got an ae92 and was gonna go with the 3SGTE, "was getting it for $1150.US ", but it seems to be too much work. As far as i know the 4AGZE bolts rite in not so?, so..although its not as insane as the 3S, i guess ive got to spend some money "which i dont have" on a set of pullys & cams etc. unless someone has a suggestion?

PS: Anyone know of the posibilities to twin charge the GZE?
