Paseo Manual Gearbox

Hi guys,

The syncromesh between 3rd and 4th has failed so that it cruches between these gears. Rather than re-build the box (which could be expensive if 3rd and 4th are on thier way out) i'd like to replace the box.

Is there any other toyota that runs the exact same box as the Paseo isn't the most popular car in the world! Or do any of you know for a gearbox forsale?

Sera or Starlet Turbo should have bolt on gearboxes.

but arent the 4efte & 5efe flywheels of different sizes? i think its like 12mm difference or something

Yes flywheels and clutches are, but we're talking about gearboxes, not flywheels or clutches. The gearboxes are almost identical, slightly different ratios but same fitment.

The only thing to watch for is Starlet turbos with optional LSD - these won't fit so easily as driveshafts are different.

O.k - cheers for the advice. So in theory I should get away with say a 1.3 starlet box??
