I purchased my Corolla G6R about a year ago for the wife to comute in. It's been so reliable and fun to drive too, it's been a great little car :D In that time I've not seen another on the roads (maybe I havn't been looking too hard?) does anyone know how many where imported to the UK? Are there any other G6R owners on this Forum?

Hi Simon, According to this link http://www.carsource.co.uk/press-release?I...icle_id=3000163 there were just 420 G6Rs made. There is at least one other owner here but he joined last week and has just bought his G6R. Toyota released this car about two months after I bought my Corolla SR :crybaby: I was not a happy bunny :crybaby:

Welcome to the Club and BTW its worth becoming a GOLD member - your £25 will help support the club and there are 58 (this number is growing all the time) different companies giving GOLD discounts.

Right that's the hard sell over - just enjoy your time here.

That explains why you don't see many around B) I've also noted since buying mine that all other Corolla's of the same period have a sticker in the window saying made in the UK, where as mine has one saying made in Japan?

Simon,

My Corolla SR was also made in Japan. There biggest difference is that Japanese manufactured Corolla of this age have MacPherson strut suspension - the UK ones have the superstrut version. You may also find that the offset on your wheels is diferent from the UK Corolla (suspension related perhaps) - mine are 42 or 43 mm which makes finding aftermarket wheels a little tricky.

Hi Kev,

It's a 4a-fe 1600cc 16v producing 109bhp @ 6000rpm and 105 lbft torque @ 4800rpm Has a six speed box giving 0-62 in 10 seconds top speed 121mph. It's the standard 1.6 litre corolla engine with an extra cog in the box.
