Can you give any information as what you get for your money when modding a 4efte?

How much you pay for what performance gains?

Thanks!!

power can be had for little money, basically get a fmic, boost controller, fuel cut defender, blow off valve, fuel computer, decat pipe + full exhaust etc...and you're looking at a healthy gain

All that above will see you well! If done properly, you can pretty much hit (or come close to) 200bhp on standard turbo and internals

if you want to get serious on hp, get a new turbo cause the ct9 is seriously asthmatic, its got a relatively low air flow rating....a td04 kit would set you off nice B)

Im liking your ideas mate!! One of these is on the cards for my car in the future! My mates not long had racelogic traction control/launch control in his soarer and im now def getting one of those kits aswell!

really? id get pee'd off at the idea of a gizmo that limits wheelspin and all! good if you wanna drag race i suppose, but im not into that

yeah, im into handling and corner exit speeds mate. Thats the key to any race. Beat the guy coming out of a roundabout and its curtains for him. My mate with the soarer has whooped many a fast car due to exit speed. He has LSD, the racelogic and various suspension goodies. The GT and Glanzas suffer quite badly from wheel spin and hop so once ive got my suspension sorted, the race logic and a quaife LSD im hoping it will be an absolute weapon! Thats when ill then go for loads more power!

Edit: Not forgetting brakes aswell. Got some plans to get those uprated to a very high standard! So with my mods, itll be brake later, accelerate sooner and hopefully suprise some much better cars!

I wouldn't have said for little money. Lots of people have tried this and found out that its not true. To get 'reliable' gains then you have to spend sensible money getting things right.

The CT9 can be made into a hybrid and a hybrid CT9 coupled with other modifications will see around 200bhp.

Most people who scrimp on some of the parts end up with fuelling or ignition problems which leads to some expensive bills.

Don't forget to consider the added cost of insurance. Its unwise not to declare modifications as you could find your insurance invalidated in the event of a claim.

Carefully consider what you want from an engine - do you want outright power or do you want to maximise the torque curve so that you have a very flexible engine that pulls strongly?

Don't forget to make sure your brakes and suspension are also up to the job.

I know a man. You will have to do some research but present the findings and i'l see what he says. He helped me with my conversion and has spent his life with toyota's, and his Dad used to own a toyota dealership.

He rebuils everything from SR's to GT4's. Everytime im up there, theres something new. Last time a 400 bhp gt4. It wasn't that great but nice to see one in detail. Also has a mad corrola, i think ae82? It has a supercharger but is waiting for a new ECU. I quite a bit of kit. Will get some pics as im up there on Thursday.

Anyway if anyone needs anything done I can gurantee I have the man. He also does work for Fensport so enough has been said. Pm me for any qu's! oh and hes in birmingham. Well south of, Worcestershire.

you went from surrey all the way to birmingham for the 4efte conversion ?!?! btw, whereabouts in surrey are you?

Yes but its not like a place where you book your car in. Its full of engines. He's got some new celica engines i think maybe st205 but not sure. He has so much stuff so expect lots of posts over the summer for bits on bobs.

I usually spend days there, poor *****. Kev mainly works on other cars and gives me hand when i need it. It means im always learning and i have an endless supply of tools. I was there till 7 the other night, froday i think, shaving my bumper to get the fmic to fit, top lad!

Am going up thursday to see if can find a d/shaft to match as one is getting on in life. Also need to adjust my konis rear, make them a bit stiffer. And finishing touches on fmic, more bumper shaving i think. Although need to be careful with the structure of bumper.

Oh and I live in Dorking, with my dear old mother! Im at uni in Swansea at the mo, but am seeing Kev on Thursday so will be back late after that. We should meet up mate!!

Tobs.

p.s I will have to confirm with all details, but there might be a full glanza conversion for sale, including blitz turbo, mani, wastegate. All ancillaries to run and fitting included in price. I will find out everything nneded to know in a couple of days after my last exams! :ffs:

Could you ask him if he would be able to do this conversion?

I am not looking at getting it done immediatly just looking into cost etc!

They do engine conversions in greece at srtratis mostorsports for 3000 euros about two grand i think which includes the engine and fitting!

I i could get it done for that kind of price here i ould be very interested!

Im running 182.9bhp with De-cat custome made, induction kit, full s/s exhusts, Remapped ECU, Iridium spk plugs, and few minnor adjustments.

But it all went wrong today when fan fuse died due to fan jamming & it all got too hot now is looks like head gasket has gone!
