Whining Noise On Yaris Ts

Hi people just wondering if anyone is having the same problem as me as when i accelerate hard and get above 3 or 4 thousand revs i can hear a whining noise from my engine (a bit like a supercharger noise) and i think it only hapens in 3rd gear.Anyway ive booked it in at toyota but was wondering whether it was normal or not.

i have a noise that might be the same when i drive the car for a few miles say doing 30-40mph and in 5th gear or any gear for that matter just makes it easier to hear over the engine and then i get like an induction noise the dealer is looking at it agian in 2 weeks time

this only happens when i take up drive so i dont think it is induction

I have my music on so loud I wouldn't hear it - I'll have to drive with the music lower to have a listern.

There is an issue with yaris gear boxs, sounds like you are describling that!, the car 'should' be turned around in a day but not the first day, you will need to rebook to allow time for parts. (unless they have thought ahead and in that case they deserve a very good dealer review! lol)

I have a whining noise when I drive very fast or take turns without braking.

The whining seems to be coming from the passenger seat but I just ignore it.

It only seems to happen when my wife is in the car too.

What is the Issue wit the gearbox, do you have any more information on it, cause if it's serious I want to know about it before I run out of warranty! :P

its a bearing fault on 'some' boxes. you know if you have it or not......
