Bucket Seat Sub Frames

I have got a set of Corbeau Carrera bucket seats for a Yaris but have been having problems getting them fitted.

I have only managed to find universal subframes and some people have told me they will fit, others disagree.

Has anyone fitted bucket seats to there Yaris and can give me some advice?

I personally wouldn’t fit any other kind of seat to a new car mainly for safety reasons.

The Yaris seats are designed to minimise neck injuries in a rear end shunt, have inbuilt side air bags and have an anti submarine feature and they also have impact damping front seat construction. Combined with the electronic seat belt mechanisms and front air bags it a pretty safe car. Remove one of those features and I feel your safety would be compromised.

There have been a few bad crashes on here and the Yaris owners have lived to tell the tail. I believe all seats/belts/air bags were un-modified in these events.

That's my advice...

Thanks for the saftey advice but its more of a show car than a road car anyways.

The car is in the top 100 at max power live and the seats are the last thing to get done, mainly bacause of the problems I've been having finding subframes.

Sparco has a frame (part#: 00499040DX, 00499040SX), if you can fit the Corbeau to that.

anti submarine feature?

Thats the tech term Matt for the feature which stops you from sliding under your seat belt lap strap in the event of an accident

Any ideas where I can get custom ones made??

I honestly wouldn't be able to recommend anybody in UK, but over here it's just a cae of popping to the next town, and a Car Aceessories place will do it for me. 40 quid for the pair :P
