What is with the yaris front end, it seems to be prone to stone chips  I think its to do with the shape. Mine has recently just been getting quite a few really small chips. Is there some kind of polish that can protect the bonnet and front end more? Has anyone had there bonnet resprayed, if so how much, mine is thunder grey! Cheers guys and girls :P

You'd be looking at around £100 to get ur bonnet re-sprayed. There is a way to prevent it chipping & thats to get it covered with clear vynal(spelling). It loses its shine but it save u from spending money on painting.

How is the condition of you bonnet, mines not that bad, but little things like that really annoy me. When I look at show cars like yours I wnder how do you keep them in such mint condition?

I wax my car, rather than polish it. The bonnet is great on mine & im always pushing people along the road :D The bumper gets most of the abuse as i dont polish that as much.

I use meguires gold class wax if ur interested :D

Iv got loads of stone chips... just it's design and i look after my car Very well! It's hard to avoid them.. after 3 years im willing to accept a few chips, dents and scratches, although i might get them sorted soon as they drive me nuts... spoils the shiny lines of my car!

I keep my car in tip-top shape... wash every week, quick wax/detail spray every 2 weeks. I also use Meguires gold class every 4-5 weeks to keep it damn shiny! Just a thin coat helps wonders. If you want to really help your paintwork, then i suggest a clay detailer (meguires again) then Autoglym's super resin polish, then meguires gold class. That'll make your car shine! For those with black/dark cars (like mine!) after the Super resin, use Autoglyms Ultra Deep Shine.... it's !Removed! marvelous!

Also, i can't stress enough the importance of a good polishing cloth and applicator pad. They help greatly to reduce swirl marks and imperfections seen easily on a dark car!

I dont think you can protect ANY car from stone chips if its out and about on the road..... prevention is better than cure!

Seveer has given me some excellent ideas for a shopping trip to Halfords!

Do you know anywhere near bournemouth thats any good. If its around the £100 mark thats not as bad as I thought. I also need to get the front right wing looked at, from what ever the last owner did to it :censor:
