Aygo Prices Released!

Toyota has priced its new Aygo city car from £6745, midway between the car's jointly developed siblings the Citroen C1 and Peugeot 107.

The cheapest three-door Aygo costs £250 more than the entry-level Citroen C1, but £250 less than the Peugeot 107 (which has only one trim level).

As with the C1, five-door versions of the Toyota are available for a premium of £250 over the three-door models.

The Aygo's standard equipment matches that of the C1. All cars include twin front airbags, power steering and a CD player.

There are no side airbags, remote central locking or 50-50 split-folding rear seats, all of which are included in the £6995 entry-level Peugeot 107.

These items are all fitted in the £7245 Aygo+, however, as well as ISOFIX child seat mountings, an upgraded stereo and the £500 option of air-conditioning.

A further £500 buys the Aygo Sport, which also includes alloy wheels and a rev counter.

From launch, the Aygo will only be available with a 67bhp 1.0-litre petrol engine. A 53bhp 1.4-litre diesel unit will join the range in early 2006. This engine will soon be available for the C1, although Peugeot has no plans to introduce it on its 107.

Aygo three-door/five-door: £6745/£6995

Aygo+ three-door/five-door: £7245/£7495

Aygo Sport three-door: £7745/£7995
