Alarm Advice

Hello all...

Am new to this board.. have just defected from the supra clan to the MR2 one ... All being well my MR2 Turbo should be on my drive on tuesday night ...

Theres a distinct lack of security on it ... so I was wondering if I could have some advice on which alarms are good and which ones arent

My car is a T-Bar so I want to be able to leave the roof off and still alarm it and have it as secure as it would have been with the roof on (other than rain!)

I've also got a turbo timer on it and was wondering if any of these alarm companys actually catered for such a device.

MmmmmmmmmmmmM.. yellow MR2.

I have a Toad remote alarm/immob on mine.. works well and you can put it in 'pet mode' if you decide to leave the roof off. The immob will still function too.

Hi,

Our most popular alarms for the MR2 is the LEA 825. It is a remote start alarm with a pager built into the keyfob that will page you if anything happend to the veihicle. The TOAD with Ultra sonics is no good with the roof out because if you put it in pet mode then you are turning the sensors off, then anyone can climb into you car without setting of the alarm. We can supply the LEA 825 with microwave sensors that will create a field around the car such that if anyone leans it it will trigger the alarm. i've got a clifford concept 300 alarm on mine cost £775 fitted with a few toys! its has a microwave sensor so i can leave my windows open and i will still function. so far its been great

i've got a sigma on mine. spot on no false alarms not sure about it fitted to a t bar

I've got a sigma too (SG 30 I think) No false alarms whatsoever, which is very pleasing for the neighbours and my nerves!!!

cobra are good straight forward alarms with a nice keyfob that isn't the size of a brick like some alarms have

dan i have a toad ai600 but ur ad makes me want to rip it out and swap for yours!!!

does anyone else think it looks the biz, or am i too easily impressed?
