Advice On Fitting Lighting Board Wiring Kit

Hi

Has anyone fitted a lighting board wiring kit to a new model Avensis hatch? If yes, what advice can you give? Does the cable feed through a grommet in the boot or do you just pass the cable through the hatch opening when you're using it? Is it easy to splice into the cars loom?

This is so I can stick a lighting board on the back of the bicycles.
