Rubbing Spoiler

ok ask some of you may know, my parents have a t-sport like mine. i read a while ago about some people who have had a problem with the TTE spoiler rubbing on the paint work and rubbing it down to the the metal. unfortunatly i cant find the thread and the problem is that toyota are saying it is not a known fault and they are not covering it under the warranty, and that is direct from Toyota GB. please can someone help

I think is was Kimi mate, she had to get like 3 new spoilers or something anyway, dunno if its connected though!

well i was one of them :D

toyota wolverhampton told me they had had a few like it,when i had this problem.

is it still fixed securely on the sides with the sticky pads?

as they come loose,which is what causes the spoiler to rub paint off.

they fixed mine under my warranty more than once

but the whole spoiler has to be replaced as you cant get the fitting kit on its own <_<

yes its still fixed to the car. its out of the first 3 year warranty. but it is under used car warrenty until august

which is the main reason why they are refusin to do it. cos its not under its first warrenty. i was under the impression that if u bomught a used car u got the same warrenty u get with a new car but for only 1 year

take a looky at that clear protective film thats on your car near the rear wheel arches,it wasnt cheap but i got some of that from mr T

cut it into shape and put it onto my bodywork where the spoiler was rubbing the paint off.

being clear it protected my paint and wasnt visable so looked ok too.

it was just why mrT ordered my new spoilers and got them painted

did not want it rubbing to much paint off.

cheers kimi. i was thinkin about doin that once or if we get it sorted. its gone right down to the metal and the spoiler has polished the metal up so it really shiney. anyway we will see wot tomorrow brings (another fight prob)

Do you have a picture of it? .. Cos i'd like to see the result of the rubbing just for future reference. Obviously hoping it doesnt happen to me though!

well toyota have just wacked some touch up paint on it for the time bein. so cant really show u now. and they have put a rubber pad on the spoiler. but it is just where the left hand bottom of the spoiler touches the paintwork. made a mark just smaller than a 5p right down to the metal. and it makes a sqeekin noise

i'd forgot about the squeek

it was the squeek that started it for me,was driving me mad

it was when we were pin pointing the squeek we found the spoiler.

I havn't got a squeek, but i have got some paint rubbed off... i'll get toyota to look at it and il try to get a pic 2mo too.

chris the same happened to me i had mine done 3 times

happened to mine too.... but the guys at toyota used touch up paint to paint it back in blue, then they use protective carlo blue film there, so the spoiler only rub with the flim instead of the paint.

mines much worse than that, ive had a look at mine, and noticed i have these touch up stickers on mine with a clear tape like coating over the top. cant really notice, but now you've mentioned it, i can lol!

ARRRRRRGH so its maybe my spoiler thats rattling/squeaking!!!!!!
