Hi ya all!

just want to ask your opinion/share your experience with either system (or both if you had them both! <_<)

Did any one encounter tuning difficulties? do tuners tune for all throttle positions or just fully open?

thanks,

How much?? I mite just buy one for the hell of it  :P

$580AU, not including ignition harness (necessary to "tap" into altering ignition timing throughout rpm range)

e-manage:

Pros - alters air/fuel ratio throughout rev range (smooths out the power curve - less flat spots), also can play with ignition timing (with the right stuff)

Cons - apparently DIFFICULT/COMPLEX to tune, and as tuning determines your value for money - you may/may not want to take the risk...

SACF 2:

Pros - same as above minus the ability to alter ignition timing??? (not sure), 2 data files - so you can have one tuned for economy and the other for fanging when you feel the urge.

Cons - very visual - high Bling factor = high theft item (hide it under a hat!), some say it's a toy (but these are the same ppl who believe in no less then Motec/microtech/wolf3D - ie. standalone ecu's)

as for me...I'm undecided, evidently the more performance mods you've got onboard the more you can expect (bearing in mind my car is a 1.3L auto, v.weak to begin with...so be realistic).

So having said that, I think with the mods I'm planning on, a standalone ecu may not be out of the question (quite tempting...).... It's just that in Aus, the immobiliser stops thieving at the ecu level - ie. replace OEM ecu entirely may mean I have to some how get around the immobilizer...otherwise, no driving...

cheers,
