err supaguard comes in a sponge anyway so you dont need a applicator...

You have to dampen the sponge and then pierce it

Cheers

the supa guard pads great for putting it on so easy to do,

to remove i recommend microfibre cloths i get mine from the local pound shop (poundland nuneaton) and when there dirty chcuk them in the wash at 90 degress with a little bit of detergent good as new,

but u can get the microfibre cloths from most hardware and DIY stores

Not all microfibre cloths are the same! If you have a darker car... like mine (and im sure kimi knows this too) if you use a poor quality cloth or an soiled cloth, then it is very easy for swirl marks to appear on the paintwork which don't look very nice!

Iv learnt the hard way after using a poor chamois that was dirty to dry the car, then polishing with normal polishing cotton 'stocking' cloth and removing with a £1 microfibre. My roof is still a state. Thankfully iv manged to get the rest of the car almost back to what it should be but it's taken a lot of hard work! The roof though is shocking... put it under a flourescent light or let it catch the sun at an angle and it looks awful.

To get rid of these hateful swirls and minor scratches you can use swirl remover, but nowhere wells it that i know of. You can use a paint restorer, but i couldn't find any of that either. What iv done is a double coat of Autoglym Super Resin, a coat of Ultra Deep Shine and Gold Class wax on top.... the result is a perfect deep shine with only a few swirls. Oh, that required Meguires applicator pads and Meguires microfibre cloth (£10) but it's worth it if you like a very clean car... which i do! Shame it doesn't stay that way all the time!

If you clay the the car that should get rid of rough paintwork and swirls (i think)

B :censor: D! swirl marks! i hate them

Always INVEST in proper cloths & pads, starting from even the sponge or mitt you use to wash your car including the leather chamois, applicator pad and removing microfiber cloth. Meguirs are the daddys, i would recommend the NXT range (purple stuff)

I checked this out, the clay doesn't remove swirls apparantly. It will remove any imperfections in your paint though, for example overspray, bugs, slight paint bumps, tree sap, and anything else that sticks up. It doesn't fill in! D'Oh!!

bugger, its just for smoothing the paintwork if its feeling a bit rough, i presumed this took the swirls away

My bad :bye:

Try Meguiars Scratch X for the swirls

Cheers, will do. It's only my roof really as i used some scratch remover to try and remove a pretty bad scratch, but it made it worse and now theres a slight cloud all around the scratch!

Yeah, tahts the problem, i used an old t-shirt.... it was lint free and 100% cotton but it didn't work... at all. Plus, the scratch remover was very abrasive and took bit of paint with it! (Stay away from JML!) Bit of t-cut and super resin and it's ok, but im fussy and im not happy!
