White Blobs On Paint Work

just had a good wash and polish on the car and noticed all over the bonnet there are white marks

at first i thought it was water stains, but neither soap, t-cut, nor polish will rid them!

so im assuming the paints now stained

and ideas on what it could be, tis only on the bonnet and headlamps  so i can try and avoid it at a later date as i have a sneaky feeling work may have something do with it  ????

i doubt i can get it out and will need the lid respraying but then got some stuff to come as it is :D

Hmmm when I lived at my Mums there is a cement place about a mile down the road which has a huge chimney which secretes a lot of white dust - my car used to have specks on it occasionally but apparently my dads green Land Rover Disco is covered with the stuff, and because its basically cement dust, it goes horrible if you dont get rid of it immediately..... stupid Rugby Cement!

Anyhoo - is there a similar plant near to you that could be causing these specks?

My sis has this problem on her Yaris. There were some building works going on at the school she works at and I think they have something to do with it. Can't get the speckles off no matter what. It's paint of some sort but it won't come off!

Might be the laquer coat failing. :(

Could try claying it, unless you already have, in which case the top coat's gone.

Re-spray I'm afraid :crybaby:

hi Rob,

sounds like oxidization(maybe spelt wrong!) its under the clear top coat,

sometimes caused by the damp.

it can be helped by heat treatment, but it does come back unfortunatly.

Only real way to get rid is like you say get it resprayed.

I.m with Kimi, but look closely are you positive the paint is not burst if it is it could be micro pore. If it is dampness then heat helps but if it is lime burns from the cement type stuff then I also think it's not cumin off

:crybaby:

Toyota super red never had laquer!!! (which is one of the reasons that it fades so badly!)

You know when you are following a muppet... usually the middle lane volvo driver sitter type???

They sprey their windscreen and you get it all over your car????

these idiots are usualy the types that fill up their windscreen wash with neat wash mix... -the result is very corrosive..... On none laquered paints the effect of it drying on and not being washed off can be a lot more pronounced...

I'm nat saying it is that but it could be!!!

Have you tried a rubbing compund, followed by T cut, then colour restore polish?
