Corolla Stalls.. Is It Oxygen Sensor

:help:

I have Toyota Corolla 2000. It has been working great until I got 60k mileage service. Soon after that I noticed engine light which according to the mechanic something related to fuel injector. However, other mechanic was helpful and he told me that its because of Oxygen Sensor (code # P0171). He told me though I could keep running for another 6 months but finally needs to replace it.

I used the car for 3-4 months since then and suddenly start noticing car stalls at first light or two. Sometime it gives hard time starting in the morning.

While searching this club, I found there could be few reasons why it's happening (including Ignition coil, fuel filter, spark plugs, distributor caps) but I am not sure if my case is same. I am wondering if in my case delaying in replacing Oxygen sensor causing the problem ?

Please advise.

Thank you.

Occasionally the sensor can be cleaned and the problem is solved and its a much cheaper option. Someone made a post a while back about cleaning the sensor but I cant find it! :(

I would try that first as it could be potentially cheaper!
